Bringing Local Back

Published on April 2, 2014 | 4:29 pm CDT

22nd Century Media began with the realization that local news was largely absent from the media. As a solution, we developed a model that not only highlights the news most important to residents but also delivers that information directly to the residents through multiple platforms. Our free weekly papers are mailed through the U.S. Postal Service, and our online programs are accessible on desktop and mobile devices. An added benefit of the online program is the option to sign up for email notifications of local breaking news, upcoming deadlines, local regulations and calendars of family-friendy events around town.

Our content follows one rule—if the town name can't be used in the headline or first sentence, it is not relevant to that town. As a recent article in mentions, we are able to produce 40-50 pieces of content each week with this simple idea in mind.

Keep up-to-date with our rapid growth and new initiatives by following us on Facebook and Twitter.

EDITOR'S NOTE: We do not currently offer "text alerts on calendar events." However, mail newsletters containing such information are accessible on mobile devices.
